We travelled to the states for a Holm family reunion. It was a blast. Super long drive but lots of fun! Go to spend some time in Osoyoos on the way home too. I love that place, and so did the kids.

It seriously feels like it's been raining all summer!! Which it really has been, but we did have some nice days. One of those days i decided to take the kiddos to the lake. We had to drive for a bit but hey I got to sit outside and enjoy the sun and the kids got to go swimming in the lake and build sand castles.

Why does everyone feel this constant need to compare "Stay at Home Moms" with the so-called "Working Mom?" First, I take offence to the term, ‘working mom.' All Moms work and the work involved with raising a child is hard and often more difficult than working outside the home.

Now, before all the moms who work away from the home jump on me, let me tell you that, in my books, I am both a SAHM and a WM. I found a job that let's me work away from home when my kids are at school. I stayed at home with them when they were young. I ‘volunteered' for jobs at their preschool, and then at their elementary until they were both there full time. I worked with kids whose own mothers didn't have the time, or the inclination. Were they ‘working moms' or not? I don't know, nor do I care. What I saw was a child who needed my help.

Now, some people see this type of involvement as very unfulfilling. I didn't. When a child who was unable to read suddenly began to see the logic in words, I was thrilled. I didn't need a pay cheque to prove my worth. It was also not my ‘career' field. It was just something I could do for a child.

For a time, I put my own life on hold. This was incredibly difficult to do, as I had a promising career ahead of me. I was lost for awhile because my role in life had changed. At first, I felt the need to justify my existence to every working mom I met. Then, I read an article in a women's magazine that described a "Super Mom." She was out of the house by 600 a.m. for her morning commute, worked all day until 600 p.m. then came home at around 700 p.m. Her children were preschoolers who were with a nanny all day. She came home in time to read them a story and tuck them into bed. I couldn't figure out where the Mom part came in. Her life was hectic, her children being raised by hired help. But, they praised her because she read to her children every night and made a play date with them on the weekend.

So, what did that make me? I just stayed at home, playing with my child, cooking with my child, reading to him all day long, bathing him, helping him get dressed, teaching him how to use the potty. Guess I wasn't much of a mom, according to the magazine.

Women are being forced to choose. One or the other. Is either group more worthy than the other? Is either group better mothers? It depends on what you do with your children. I think, that if you love them unconditionally, are there to listen to them, keep informed about what is happening in their lives, and respect them, then, you are a great mother. And, that is no matter whether you stay at home, or go to a job elsewhere. If you are willing to do whatever is necessary for your child, that is all that matters.

So, which group is more emancipated? The SAHM's or the WM's? Who cares! Are you happy with your choice in life? Are your kids thriving? Then, you, my friend, have the best of both worlds.

My outside job is not the ‘career' I had envisioned many years ago, before children. However, staying at home has allowed me to renew my creative side by being a kid again. So, now I have another career which is just beginning to take shape Writing. But, that is not the job I go to 5 days per week either.

Life is about choices. Make yours and believe it is right for you. But, remember, you can always choose to change it. The choice is yours. Don't let one writer or another make your choices for you. Be proud of who you are, and show your kids that you take that pride in yourself.

But, whatever your choice, please, don't put down the choices of others. We are all in this world for a reason, but for a very short time. Make your time count!

This may long weekend we met some good friends of ours in Hinton to go camping.
It was perfect weather and a beautiful campsite right beside the river. The fire ban was on which kind of sucked, but we had a ton of fun none the less!! It rained the very last day when we were leaving, oh and one evening, but thankfully we both had awnings so we didn't get wet while we played cards and settlers:)
Corban and Celia had such a blast! They havn't stopped asking to go camping again.... soon.

I officially became a soccer mom, yay! I love it and for the most part Celia is loving soccer too! Corban is in gymnastics and loving it so much too! There both so cute and sooo fun!
Both their bdays are in June so Papa and Nana bought them an early gift, a trampoline. So we spend every waking, un- busy moment on it:). Celia is enjoying preschool so much and all her little friends, she is such a happy girl and enjoys every moment of her life.
I'm not sure why my font changed from blue to black, or why the blue was all underlined and I was not sure how to turn it off!! So enjoy even with the crazy writing:)

Yep, that's how I'm feeling the past couple days. I'm so teary and sad. I think it's just these pregnancy hormones wreaking havock(however you spell that) on me..... I dunno, but I do have to say the weather is sooooo much better than what it was. We do still have alot of snow in the front yard but it's allllll gone in the back yard, yip!
I think I have been realizing to that i am getting older, I mean I know I'm not super old but I am not 18 anymore. It's weird to think back, I feel like it was just yesterday. But older means wiser right??? Haha. Well God has been teaching me to be content in every situation, to allow Him to do a good work in me and not try to take matters and situations into my own hands (which I believe I am sooooo very good at:) ). He wants me to be content with who I am in Him and what He has planned for my life. I so often allow satans lies to determine the outcome of my day or a situation when all i have to do is ask God to direct me and not the lies!
Well that's a tid bit of what I'm thinking at this moment, hehe.
Jeremy is taking the kids and I to the movie RIO tonight, should be fun! I'm so thankful for my husband and the beautiful children he has blessed me with!

This is just some of the projects I've been working on. The top dress is Celia's Easter dress. It's pretty cute, the picture kinda sux because of crappy lighting tho. O well. I am deffinately enjoying sewing. I've made three diaper bags so far and love love love making them, so much fun! Just shouldn't sew too long when the kids are awake, they get into EVERYTHING!!!!!

I'm totally complaining right now, but that's ok cuz this is my blog and I can complain if I want to!!
I am soooooo sick of neighbour dogs pooping in my yard. Yes I do have my own dog to clean up after and yes I do, but this stupid dog next door digs under our fence just to take a dump in our yard. Really?
Anyways I'm done my complaining now.

Crazy life

So last week I had some of the most severe pain I have ever ever experienced! Finally found out after two doctors that my appendix had burst and that I needed surgery right away! Whoa! My mom came up to help asap, shes wonderful:). She came on the bus the day after my surgery. Jeremy went to pick her up from the bus and was hit by a drunk driver. Praise the Lord he was/is safe and the kids were not in the car!! But I than wonder why? RIGHT now we cannot afford another vehicle and insurance is taking forever and ever and ever!! So we wait and continue to wonder but serve a God who has our best in mind. After my surgery I was told that there was a possibility I may not be able to have any more children. WELL yesterday I found out I had been pregnant throughout the whole surgery!! Wow! So I am 4-5 weeks preggo:) Please pray that baby develops ok and that none of my antibiotics have harmed him/her. Thanks.

I don't know if anyone even checks my blog anymore, but I think I need to start updating it more often. So I thought I would start today. It's saturday and Jeremy has to work, well he decided to since we need the money lately.
Everything has been pretty normal lately except that unexpected bills come up far too often. So we deal and move on. Grrr... it seems as if we get two steps ahead and than right away fall three steps backwards.
Well anyways, Celia is growing up and she is just such a little sweetheart. She prays to Jesus now and it is just the sweetest thing ever. She already has a heart for him and a passion for people. I thank God for her everyday, because God has taught me so much though her. It's funny, I thought I was supposed to teach her about God, and I do, but she has taught me so much too. Wow.

Halloween

Halloween was deffinately fun! Celia and I went to the mall for a little bit and collected candy there, but mostly Celia just wanted to see all the other kids. Than we went to Wild Rose Manor where I work and showed all the elderly people my cute pumpkin. After that Celia fell asleep, so we went to pick daddy up so we could go over to Holli's house and have more fun there.

Ok, I am preggers again. And having mixed feelings!! I am one month and a bit and will be due June 3. My birthday.
I'm feeling alright, a bit nauseasted throughout the day but other than that ok. Been craving Reeses bars like no other.
Celia will be such a good big sister and will love her brother or sister, since she calls everyone baby already, and gives kisses.

Celia and I went on a day visit to my sister Kelly's house in Chetwynd a few weeks ago. Her cousin Marissa and her just loved each other and read and played with one another.
I have also been watching Oakley the past two weeks on tuesdays, Celia loves him and I think might be quite bossy. It has been fun though.

Life, Work and everything else...

Well I havn't written or posted anything for a while. many apologies.
And today is deffinately a blah day. My grandma passed away on saturday and it takes me a while to just process what happened. Well today seemed to be the tip of the ice burg. I started a new job for Peace Country Health and wanted to be casual. Yes I told them that. So the lady gave me some of my shifts and I was happy with that. I said I would do a few 6-10 pm shifts so that my orientation would go alot faster. Anyways, today I called them to tell them I will need next weekend off for my grandmas funeral (she is being cremated) so it can be whenever tha family wants. Well our family chose next weekend! Oh well telling the office was like... well I'm angry right now so I will leave me choice words out, BUT wow they sure showed me there true colors. They are being very difficult and ornery and could care less about my grandma. Maybe I am exagerating but boy it was sure a ring around the rosy telling them that YES my grandma had passed away and YES it was next weekend and YES I did need the time off. Than the lady was telling me that she had booked me for all the days I wanted off. Well, that was the first I had heard of that. Let's just say I started crying and became emotional and now I cannot stop crying because my emotions have hit. And hard too.
Wow, sorry, I am sure many of you do not really care but I felt like I needed to write it down. Has anyone else ever been treated awful at work? Right now I deffinately feel alone and really upset. I even ended up calling them and telling them that I would not lie to them and that I had told them what shifts I had wanted and they need to stick to that or I would not be able to work for them. Ok, so that was one of the hardest things I would ever do in my entire life. I hate confrontation, and being assertive. Hurting people or making them mad is not something I enjoy doing!
So Jeremy, Celia and I are off to my grandmas funeral next week. We leave wednesday and come home monday. I have mixed feelings and was trying to control my emotion, but I deffinately messed that up, my emotion got the better of me, and here I am balling!!
Well I hope and pray you are all doing alot better than I am right now, God bless you all.

I had surgery on my armpit on monday. It has been quite sore but seems to be healing quite quickly. I had a lump under my arm that was quite large, so they removed it. The doctor believes it is not cancerous but sent it away for testing anyways. I am so glad to be rid of the stupid lump! It bothered me in the summers and when I was wearing t-shirts, because it protruded. Also when I was pregnant it got even bigger and when I was nursing Celia filled with milk as well. So I am just glad it is gone. Now I just have to wait for the cut to heal. It is actually quite large, and hopefully will not be a huge scar. But I would deffinately rather have a scar than a huge disgusting lump. So that is my story for the day. I was going to post a picture but decided that you all would be quite grossed out and probably did not want to see it!

A tribute to family

I was just thinking about family today and just really started to miss each one of them. So I decided to share with all of you a picture of some of my family. It is immediate family on both of our sides. There have been additions to both families and there are no aunts, uncles, cousins etc. present.
Jeremy's family is the first picture. I am thankful for each of them and they mean just as much to me as my family. I am very thankful for them. The second picture is my family, and oh how I love each one of them!! We are a very close knit family and I just praise God for that.
Totally off the subject, let's pray for spring to come, because I think I am going stir crazy. I have just about had it with all this snow. Funny thing is, as I write this, it's snowing! Argh.

Swimming Lessons

We put Celia in swimming lessons for three weeks, and boy oh boy was it ever fun. Oakley and Katelyn were also there. Unfortunately the day I brought my camera Katelyn and her mommy were not there so I never got any pictures of them. Celia's swim class was called starfish, and she passed (yeah) and even got a report card (which is shown), next time she get's to be in turtles.
It was neat to see how confident she got with the water each time. We deffinately have a water baby.

Sorry there have not been any posts lately. We are in the process of moving and have been very busy. I am kinda stressed out and just waiting to settle down and be at a normal pace again. I get very stressed and just really hate moving!!!

Well I would like to repeat the words of a wonderful country song, that has been running through my head all day that just seems to rain true lately. Here goes... "I need a vacation from my life, me and my husband we need a wife.." Haha hilarious, well I would like a vacation, but that will not happen for a while. Well I guess I have a little one coming up next week. Our basketball team is going to Edmonton for a tournament. So Celia and I are packing up and going for the weekend. Unfortunately Jeremy cannot come so I asked our wonderful, beautiful babysitter (only person, other than family that has watched Celia) Lisa to come along. So I am quite excited. I will miss Jeremy alot but it will be nice to get away with the girls for a 'lil while, PLUS we get to go to West Ed mall and shop(Old Navy, HOLLY!!) haha, and go swimming. Yehaw. It will also be fun to be with Amber and Sheri who are both bringing their little munchkins. Well it is deffinately not anywhere hot, but it is a change of scenery.

Stockings

Well all the pictures I wanted to post would not let me. So I have two that I wanted. I wanted to show off our christmas stockings. My mom makes each of our family members stockings with a theme. This pink stocking is Celia's. It has buttons and bows all over it and it is gorgeous (the picture does not do it justice). My mom went with the buttons and bows theme because that was the theme of my baby shower and it just seemed to fit Celia well. My mom made my stocking quite a few yeaars ago. It is gorgeous as well. She made Jeremy's stocking last year and since he loves snowbording it has a picture of a snowboarder on it (which she sewed on). Just amazing and I wish I could show you picures of both Jeremy and mine but unfortunately the computer was acting up and would not let me. Some other stockings she has made have been peter rabbit, bumblebee, western themes (for my brother in law who is a farmer) and so many more... Mom is deffinately talented!!

Hello everybody, it has been a while since I have put any pictures on here. Wow, our little girl just keeps surprising me with all the new things she keeps coming up with. Her new funny faces and squiggling her way all over the floor. She is almost 6 months old and I just cannot believe how fast the time has flown by. Although she still does not sleep through the night so I am quite sleep deprived, but it is quite amazing how much sleep you can actually live on.
Tonight Jeremy and I were craving Baileys so we went and bought a caramel bottle of Bailey's. Yummy yummy!!
Well christmas is right around the corner and I was thinking today about how much we put emphasis on presents and santa, and forget the true and real reason for christmas. SO I want to take this time to just remember Jesus and his birth, what would christmas be without him and his willingness to come to this earth for us? Well anyways, God bless you all.

Winter blues...

I think I have a case of the winter blues today. My sister and her husband are off to Maui and boy what I would give to go too. Maybe not with them, but oh the sunshine and the ocean!!!! Usually I love saturdays because Jeremy is home and it is our day to hang out together. But our car has gone crazy so he is out at his work fixing it. So we don't get much of a day together.
I am also sick with a head cold and feel awful.
I think I am done complaining now. So on a happy note, it is almost christmas, and I love christmas. Celia will be 5 months old in 2 days and wow, the months have just flown by. She is just a happy little girl and I could just kiss her forever and ever.
Well I hope everyone else is doing well. And if you are going somewhere hot this christmas, do you have room for me?? Haha just joking, I am happy here in the cold north. Good day all!

Last night we went to see "Casino Royale" and brought Celia with us. She was so cute, she watched the whole thing and must have really liked the pictures. I tried putting her in her carseat but she wanted to be on my lap watching the movie. I had to leave once with her because she was talking(baby gurgling) really loud and I didn't want to make anyone mad. It was nice to go to a movie. We have not been to a movie in such a long time. The movie was alright I personally think that there have been better 007 movies, but it was not too bad. So... if i had to recommend it, I would, BUT I would say it is not as good as it was made to look. Anyways, hope you are all having a great day.

Celia is loving squash these days. Every time Jeremy or I are eating she starts whining until she get's some good ol' butternut squash. Celia's development lately has been so amazing, she is a go getter for sure, she never stops.
I am getting excited for christmas, I love the feeling of christmas and love setting up the christmas tree and all the decorations. Jeremy and I had a great christmas last year together, but this year will be fun too, cuz we have a little princess to enjoy it with us.

Wow, I may just be Celia's mom, but she is so beautiful! Her big blue eyes make my heart melt! The sweater she is wearing was given to her from aunty Andrea, and we love it, thanks!
Celia's little personality is sure starting to reveal. She is so happy all the time and loves to talk. She never stops gabbing! The only time she get's a little grouchy is when daddy decides she needs to try some ice cream, ha, wow that did not agree with her tummy at all. I guess that's the same as a popsicle hey Rol, Krys, Brend, and my family??? Haha, I guess we all live and learn. It's just funny how mommy has to learn because I was up with her last night.
Oh well love you all and miss you!

I enjoyed being in Prince for a couple of weeks, but it is very nice to be home. Celia and I have gotten back into our routine and she is very happy. I was also able to do this months cleaning and get back to enjoying being at home and doing my wifely duties (hehe). I never knew how much I appreciated routines, but I now know.
Also for any of you that are travelling on the Pine Pass, be CAREFUL!!!!! It was awful, the roads were so slippery and the trip back was so scarry. Well I don't have to many new pictures but I took a few good pics of Celia in her jolly jumper the past few days and thought I could post those. Jolly jumper's are such great things (hey Amber???)

Where's Celia?

Can you find Celia amongst the dolly's. These were my favorite dolly's when I was younger. I would dress them up like a real baby and even give them bottles. Hey and now I have my own little dolly to do all that with.
I just cannot believe Celia's development these days. She changes everyday. She is beginning to teethe and has been kinda grumpy lately. She has not been herself at all. And today I gave her a bit of baby food squash and she LOVED it. Her tummy took it well to, it did not come back up. So we will try it again tomorrow. Being a mommy to this precious little angel is sure alot of fun and so rewarding (just to see her development and how smart she is). What would I do without her?

We had such a fun night! Poor little Celia was not feeling so well so the little bunny went to bed pretty early. I went trick-or-treating with my nieces and nephews for a little bit. In the pictures there is a little catterpillar, a pirate, Harry Potter and Belle.

So I went and erased my entire blog somehow, I don't know how, but now I am starting from scratch because I don't know how to recover my old one. Oh well, I guess it's ok.
